SBA Relief Available for Victims of Ongoing CA Wildfires
SBA has issued a fact sheet, U.S. SMALL BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION FACT SHEET - DISASTER LOANS CALIFORNIA Declaration #20953 & #20954 (Disaster: CA-20030) Incident: WILDFIRES & STRAIGHT-LINE WINDS occurring: January 7, 2025 & continuing in Los Angeles County, California; and for economic injury only in the contiguous California counties of: Kern, Orange, San Bernardino & Ventura (dated January 10, 2025), providing detailed information about the loans available from SBA for home- and business owners impacted by the California wildfires.According to the fact sheet, the SBA loans that may be available to disaster victims include:
Business Physical Disaster Loans – loans available to businesses of all sizes and to private, non-profit organizations, to repair or replace disaster-damaged property owned by the business, including real estate, inventories, supplies, machinery and equipment;Economic Injury Disaster Loans (EIDL) – Working capital loans available to small businesses, small agricultural cooperatives, small businesses engaged in aquaculture, and most private, non-profit organizations of all sizes to help them meet their ordinary and necessary financial obligations that cannot be met as a direct result of the disaster
Home Disaster Loans – loans to homeowners or renters to repair or replace disaster-damaged real estate and personal property, including automobiles.

Applications for disaster loans may be submitted online using the MySBA Loan Portal at https://lending.sba.gov or at other locations that SBA will announce.

The current filing deadline for loans for physical damage is March 10, 2025, and for EIDL is October 8, 2025, although, given the ongoing nature of this disaster, those dates may be extended.
